I'm KayDee Pratt, currently in my fourth year studying Product Design at the University of Kentucky. Originally from Corbin, Kentucky, I graduated from Whitley County High School in 2020.
My academic journey began in a different direction—I started college as a Biology/Pre-Med student before realizing my true passion for design. My interests lie primarily in sports design and UX/UI. From a young age, I immersed myself in various sports such as basketball, dance, cheer, archery, and karate, driven by the adrenaline and energy they provided. This passion naturally led me to pursue designing for the sports industry.
Through my studies, I've also discovered a newfound love for UX/UI design. Understanding how people interact with products and incorporating user feedback to enhance product development has ignited a fresh creative interest for me.
My grandfather was a pivotal influence in my life. His talents spanned painting, drawing, and building—skills he eagerly shared with me during our arts and crafts sessions. Despite my initial resistance to the arts, his patience guidance unknowingly instilled a foundation in design that would later become my calling.
My diverse background in sports and evolving understanding of user-centric design principles shape my approach to creating impactful and intuitive designs. I am eager to continue exploring these passions and contributing innovative solutions to the design world.
